REFS TO HELP PLAYERS DISCIPLINE
Scotland's referee's supremo, Hugh Dallas, has agreed to help Shire players and coaches improve discipline at the club.
After a conversation between Mr Dallas and coach, Jim McInally, Grade One official, Stephen Finnie, will attend a Shire training session next week.
The aim is to explain to the players how referees interpret the laws of the game and make them aware of any changes to them that players may have missed.
Shire have accumulated seven yellow and one red card already this season; four of the bookings have been for dissent.
"We are running with a smaller squad this season and we can't afford to run up a lot of yellow cards, especially for things like dissent," said the Shire coach.
"The players have been warned that they should do their talking on the pitch. There have been a number of times when they have felt hard done by, but the best way to respond to that is to win football matches," he said.
