JAMIE BARCLAY SIGNS

Falkirk's under-21 Scotland international goalkeeper, Jamie Barclay, has joined East Stirlingshire on a season long loan.

Jamie is no stranger to Shire; he spent eleven games last season at the club as an emergency loan signing during which time the team remained unbeaten.

He will go straight into the squad for the Third Division opener against Livingston at Ochilview on Saturday.

"We have had to wait some time to get Jamie, but I  have said all along he is a player worth waiting for," said Shire coach Jim McInally.

"Last season we had problems with goalkeepers and we are determined that won't happen this time.

"We will obviously lose Jamie when he goes off on international duty but I  think Gavin Sorley showed against St. Mirren that we don't need to worry too much about that.

"We hope that when the time comes for Jamie to go back to Falkirk Gavin will have gained the right kind of experience to be a ready-made replacement.

"Ian Ure and Lawrie Spence have also joined and they will play for the under-17's and under-19', giving us four keepers who we can have confidence in for the future."
